2016 NEWS

Xentech Solutions returns to the Engineering Design Show at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 19-20 October 2016

St Albans, UK. 13th September 2016

With the Electronics Design Show now seen as the premier event of its type in the UK, Xentech Solutions is once again exhibiting at the show, held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on the 19th and 20th October, and taking the opportunity to showcase its Axtrinet™ 10Gbps/40Gbps Ethernet Packet Generators.

Following on from a successful European launch in February, Xentech Solutions is proud to be able to present its Axtrinet™ 10Gbps/40Gbps Ethernet Packet Generators to the UK market at the Engineering Design Show.

Designed for applications in R&D, Test, and Manufacturing environments the Axtrinet APG Packet Generators allow reliable and affordable testing of:

  • Ethernet Network Equipment such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and Network Monitoring devices
  • Specialist devices such as FPGA based accelerator NIC cards and offload appliances
  • Ethernet Infrastructure Installations encompassing cabling and switches

Don’t risk shipping untested equipment; use the Axtrinet APG Packet Generators to verify correct operation of new products in the development environment and at the factory.

“With the Engineering Design Show being the premier event of its type in the UK and with a focus on electronics and embedded software design, we chose it to showcase our new Axtrinet™ products to a local audience”, said Kevin O’Brien, Managing Director, Xentech Solutions Limited.

Delegates attending the show will be able to see the Axtrinet™ products in action and have a chance to talk face to face with the designers of the product.

Experienced at developing high speed communications modules for the networking industry and equally at home creating simple, cost-effective embedded controllers, Xentech Solutions’ team of world class engineers can help you with projects such as; updating an existing design with faster, more power-efficient microprocessors; or adding touchscreen capability; or using Ethernet or Wi-Fi to control and monitor an already proven system.

And f you need help getting a product through CE marking, working with internationally accredited test houses, Xentech Solutions can guide you through the process, carry out assessments and recommend any required design changes. And with relationships with UK based Contract Manufacturers, and a wealth of New Product Introduction (NPI) experience, Xentech Solutions can also ensure you have an optimum manufacturing and test strategy in place to maximise your return on investment.

Talk to Xentech Solutions on Stand J5 at the show for more information.

Xentech Solutions Ltd selects Achronix Speedster22i FPGAs for its
Axtrinet™ Ethernet Packet Generators

St Albans, UK. 17th May 2016

Xentech Solutions Limited today announced that it has selected the Speedster22i FPGAs from Achronix Semiconductor Corporation for its compact and low-cost Axtrinet™ Ethernet Packet Generators. By using the embedded hard Ethernet and DDR3 controllers in Speedster22i FPGAs, Xentech was able to meet its aggressive cost and power targets.

The Speedster22i devices were the industry’s first FPGAs with embedded hard IP for high-performance wireline applications. The hard IP includes 10/40/100G Ethernet, Interlaken, PCI Express Gen3 x8 and up to DDR3 x72 controllers. Hardening key interface IP in the Speedster22i devices frees up the programmable logic fabric that would otherwise need to be used to implement the interfaces using soft IP.  The hard IP approach increases the effective capacity of the FPGA and significantly reduces the FPGA power consumption. The Speedster22i family is built on 22nm Tri-Gate technology and includes devices with densities up to 1 million effective look-up-tables (LUTs) and 86 Mbits of on-chip memory.

Designed to meet the needs of “Ethernet Everywhere” and the infrastructure behind the “Internet of Things,” the Axtrinet APG Ethernet Packet Generators provides a compact and affordable set of 40Gbps and 10Gbps Ethernet Packet Generator/Analysers with a simple-to-use Graphical User Interface and an open TCL API for third-party scripting.  Designed for applications in R&D, Test, and Manufacturing environments, the Axtrinet APG Packet Generators allow reliable and affordable testing of Ethernet network equipment, specialist devices such as an FPGA-based accelerator NIC cards and offload appliances and Ethernet infrastructure installations encompassing cabling and switches.

“Our Axtrinet APG Ethernet Packet Generators deliver the size, price and functionality so that every engineer can have one at their own desk; and the Speedster22i devices with hardened high-speed Ethernet and DDR3 controllers were the perfect FPGA solution for our requirements”, said Kevin O’Brien, Managing Director of Xentech Solutions Ltd. “Most importantly, Achronix support has been excellent during every step of the design process, helping us reduce our design cycle time.”

“Xentech has built a superior Ethernet tester product that will have wide range appeal,” said Steve Mensor, Vice President of Marketing, Achronix Semiconductor. “We are very pleased that our industry leading Speedster22i FPGAs and excellent support team has helped Xentech build a successful product.”

Xentech Solutions returns to Embedded World in 2016

St Albans, UK. 11th January 2016

Taking its innovative and cost effective approach to embedded systems development into Europe, Xentech Solutions announces it will again be exhibiting at Embedded World, Nuremberg from the 23-25 February 2016.

Come along to stand 4-626 in Hall 4 to find out how Xentech Solutions can help you achieve your project objectives, to remain competitive and to grow your revenue.

With internal development teams pressed for time and resources, and financial constraints limiting headcount, it is all too easy to let new product developments slip. That needn’t be the case using Xentech Solutions five step plan to success:

Review. Get an independent review of a new design – what changes can be made to add features? Is it the optimum architecture for the required functionality and performance?

Reduce. Consider cost reduction of an existing design using newer, more integrated Systems on Silicon (SoC), or lower power devices. Lowering the component count makes for easier parts stocking at the manufacturer, faster assembly times and improved reliability.

Refresh. With the adoption of mobile applications, many embedded system user interfaces are looking tired. Updating the user interface gives equipment a new lease of life, making it more attractive to existing and potential customers and opening up new markets.

Connect. Add Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0 to an existing product to allow users to connect more easily. Higher USB and Ethernet speeds enable faster connections to embedded systems giving a more satisfying user experience.

Extend. How can more features be added to an existing design to keep your product at the leading edge? Taking the existing architecture and updating the detailed design allows new features to be added without a ground-up redesign. By adding to an existing design, it is possible to extend the market life of a product with minimal additional development cost.
