Overall Purpose of Job

To develop software for implementing functions for new hardware product developments with a focus on software for networking and control products.
Examples include, BSP, Flash Drivers/File systems, software porting and integration
To enhance and develop procedures for software control and release
To assist with internal network infrastructure support

Specific Accountabilities

Responsible for contributing to the overall architectural design of new products
Responsible for the specification of hardware adaption layer components
Accountable for the delivery of high quality work to an agreed timescale

Education/Qualifications

Honours degree in either electronics or a computing-related subject

Skills/Experience

Essential

Two years professional experience developing embedded software
Embedded software knowledge to ASIC level and experience of microprocessors
Experience of Linux/BSD to kernel level
Experience of programming in C
Basic knowledge of networking, and IP (Internet Protocol) implementations

Desirable

Specialist knowledge of PowerPC or ARM programming
General knowledge/experience of networking industry standard silicon devices.

Compensation

Salary between £30k – £40k per annum depending upon skills and experience
